Little Lou Baby Giving Back To The Community

Here at Little Lou we are dedicated to supporting charities. A little bit about some of the charities we donate to are listed below:

    Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House Charities is not only a National charity, but truly global – now having 365 Ronald McDonald houses in 43 countries and regions worldwide. They were originally founded in 1974 in Philadelphia, USA. The powerful goal was to provide a house where the families of children in hospital could get some rest away from the ward. The first Ronald McDonald house in Australia opened its doors in 1981 next to the former Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in Camperdown NSW.

Ronald McDonald House then launched a learning program in 1999 to support seriously ill children who had misses months or even years of school. One on one tuition from qualified teachers was provided, this had a significant impact on the confidence and future prospects of children who have battled serious illness.

We understand how devastating and stressful it can be when your baby or child needs to stay in hospital for a prolonged period of time, sometimes you need to stay away from home for your child to receive treatment, you may have other young children you need to care for. While Ronald McDonald house provides the accommodation we have provided strollers/prams for families to use. This is just one less thing you need to remember to pack in the car for your stay.

    ACCESS

Access community services Limited is one of Australia’s leaders in multicultural issues with over 30 years of experience. Services are delivered right across Queensland.

The Access Gateway is a safe place of refuge where a complete range of support services are provided. Under one roof everyday Australians and new arrivals can access programs offered by organisations within the community. From English classes, legal advice, health services, family support, domestic violence support and employment and training opportunities, their “no wrong-door” philosophy means no one will be turned away without assistance and advice.

The Gateway provides an open area for donations. We understand that families in hardship appreciate having access to compulsory baby items for eg. brand new strollers/prams and highchairs – this ensures they meet the current safety standard and are clean. All families can benefit from these baby products, which we supply to this service. Access states “We’re in this together”.

    99 Steps

99 Steps is a support service for culturally and linguistically diverse individuals and families affected by domestic violence. Often when escaping a violent situation you can only leave with a small amount of items such as clothes, cash, legal documents. If you have children there are many services to help you provide the necessities. We donate strollers/prams and highchairs for those in need.

    Baby Give Back

Baby Give Back is an organisation that helps families in crisis because they believe (and so do we) that every baby deserves an equal start. Donations are provided via social service agencies and social workers who are qualified to assess a family’s need.

Items range from nappies and wipes, to prams, cots car seats and everything in between. We donate baby items

Baby Give Back acknowledge the Yugambeh People, the traditional owners of the land where Baby Give Back operates and pay our respects to their elders, past, present and emerging.
